The book I have ordered is just as it claims. I have not read through it completely, but feel that the book will be very helpful with day to day life in that area.
Strangely Organized Guide Book March 19, 2010 J. Keal (Houston) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The information in this book is good, but trying to look up something is difficult because of the way that it is arranged. Photos are good, but it goes back and forth between the the two main cities with bits of Dolores Hidalgo thrown in too.
Amateurish and largely useless June 13, 2010 Grump Ity (California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Perhaps I've been spoiled by... well, every other guide book I've read in the past few years. I've come to expect crisp, witty, well-written, well-organized and ultimately useful information. This book, while being earnest, has yielded no more information than the relevant chapters in Rough Guide's or Lonely Planet's guides to Mexico. It has given me no interesting stories, no hidden gems, and has left me feeling like I'd been reading high-school essays all day. It's clear that the author genuinely likes the subject, but I'm hard pressed to find any other qualifications for writing a book. Unfortunately, this has, so far, been the only Guanajuato - specific guide I've seen in stores.
